Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community. We welcome and encourage anyone who is willing to contribute at any level in the P&C.

The other roles of the P&C involve assisting in providing equipment required by the school, assisting the teaching staff in establishment of school policy and management in all facets of school activity and establishing a strong sense of community within the school.

Our major fundraising events include:

• the NPS School Fete,

• running the canteen at school and special events such as the school carnivals and socials,

• event raffles such as the Easter raffle, and

• Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Stalls.

All the money raised from goes directly into the school in a variety of ways. The P&C purchase the books given to the Kindergarten students at Presentation Day and a Year 6 farewell gift each year.  The P&C have also helped purchase a variety of sports equipment, provided classroom equipment, funded excursion opportunities and much more.

The P&C meet twice a term (dates are listed on the school calendar) and everyone is most welcome.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
